Absentee Ballot must be returned to the District by 5/13/13 in order to have ballot mailed to voter.
At the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting Thursday night, the Eldred Central School District Board of Education adopted the 2013-2014 budget that will be submitted to the voters on May 21st.
“We did put out a retirement incentive to our faculty and a number of faculty elected to take the incentive,” said Eldred Superintendent Robert M. Dufour. “That coupled with increased state aid and significant cuts to the budget overall, allowed us to submit our budget to the school board for approval tonight.” “We are confident that the community will support this budget and by doing so support the educational and extracurricular programs that provide for a well-rounded educational experience for our students”.
On May 9, 2013, beginning at 7 p.m., a budget hearing and a “Meet the Candidates” forum will take place at the Eldred Junior-Senior High School. This will be an opportunity for the community to meet the candidate(s) running for one available board seat. Additionally, the community will be presented with current budget information that will outline the budget that was adopted by the Board of Education.
The budget vote and school board election will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Eldred Junior-Senior High School, Eldred, New York.
