THE WEIGHTED GRADING SYSTEM:

Students’ high school transcripts reflect an unweighted grade point average.
A weighted grade point average will only be used for determining class rank.

The following courses will be weighted using a multiplier of 1.025:

  • Regents Mathematics
  • Regents Science 
  • Regents English 11
  • Regents Global History 
  • Regents U.S. History
Note:  Students must pass the Regents exams in these classes to receive the added weight.
 
Advanced courses, weighted using a multiplier of 1.05, are listed as follows:        
  • Composition (SCCC)
  • Fundamentals of Speech (SCCC)
  • Introduction to Sociology (SCCC)
  • Social Problems (SCCC)
  • Western Civ. I & II (SCCC)
  • PreCalculus (SCCC)
  • US History I & II (SCCC)
